Goat Milk Soaps

We use Goat Milk Soap Base in most of our soaps as it is gentle on the skin, cleansing, creamy, lathers well and rich in nutrients such as Vitamin A and selenium. Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that has antiaging properties. Selenium is a mineral that supports a healthy skin membrane.

People have been using Goats Milk Soap for thousands of years as it is rich is saturated and unsaturated fats making it ideal for soap production.

These fats give the soap its lathering, moisturising and nourishing properties. It also contains caprylic acid which helps with the gentle removal of dirt and debris without removing the skins natural fatty acids and oils. Goat Milk Soap therefore is also a natural exfoliant and has been found to have anti-inflammatory effects.

The ingredients for our Goat Milk Soaps are: Goats milk, kosher glycerine, natural and vegetable oil.

Our soaps are gluten free, soy free, non GMO (produced without genetic engineering) and hypo-allergenic.

We use mica powder and liquid pigments for our colourful creations. We only use pure essential oils and aim to source paraben free fragrance oils for our amazing scents.

We source our soap supplies from a locally based company called Aussie Soap Supplies. They are located in Kardinya Western Australia and import their soap base products from Canada.

We try very much to source locally where we can, aim to use safe and natural ingredients and reduce our plastic use.

Melt & Pour Soaps Care Instructions

It all begins with an idea.

At Busy Bee Soaps we use the melt and pour technique as it is safer and easier than other soap making methods that involve handling lye.

The soap bases we use are sourced from a local business and have already undergone the saponification process with lye. Saponification is when particular oils are combined with an alkaline solution to create a reaction.

We love being able to be creative by using moulds we add colours such as mica powders, then add pure fragrance or essential oils to these soap bases to bring our soap creations to life and make bath time fun.

The soap bases we use for the kids soaps are Goat’s Milk as these are gentle on the skin, we also use Shea, Cocoa, Coconut, Natural, Oatmeal and Honey soap bases. Olive Oil soap base is used to make our vegan soaps.

We do not have to wait the curing period that is required with cold-pressed soaps and our soaps can be made in a short period of time and are ready to use once they are removed from their moulds.

Melt and pour soaps are especially prone to sweating due to them containing glycerin.

Glycerin is a humectant which attracts and absorbs moisture from the air which helps to make the soaps soothing and hydrating. This is what is known as ‘sweating’ or ‘glycerine dew'.

We do our best to prevent this from happening, we can shrink wrap our soaps, although we do like to reduce our plastic use as much as possible to help the environment.

Things you can do at home to prevent soaps from ‘sweating’ are:

  • Soaps should be stored in a cool, dark and dry environment

  • Heat, humidity and light can all increase oxidation and rancidity

  • Store soaps in air tight container, plastic food wrap, cello bags or ask us to shrink wrap your soaps for you

  • If your soaps do sweat you can wipe away the residue with a cloth or paper towel

Our melt and pour soaps have a shelf life of about 18 months. The fragrance and essential oils we add to the soaps help to preserve the quality of our products. We do not add any other preservatives to extend our product shelf life as we like our products to be as natural as possible.

We hope you enjoy using our soaps as much as we love making them! We would love your feedback. You can do this by completing a review of our products via our website or send us a photo, message or email us!
